|Great Horwood History||
The King has been pleased to grant to the Rev. Richard Tomkins of Cotheridge Court, in the County of Worcester, Clerk, and the Rector of Great Horwood in the county of Buckingham, his Royal Licence and authority that he and his issue may assume and from henceforth use the surname of Berkeley only, instead of that of Tomkins, and that he and they may also take and bear the arms of Berkeley of Cotheridge.
On Sunday last the Rev. Charles Kerr, who was for upwards of six years Curate of Great Horwood, near Winslow, preached a very affecting and impressive sermon to a crowded congregation of his parishioners, on occasion of his taking leave of them, a new rector having been appointed to the living. His flock, by whom he was universally and deservedly beloved, will lose an excellent clergyman and a kind and charitable friend.
